Relatives of the 1916 Easter Rising and campaigners held an Arms Around Moore Street protest where the national monument is about to be dwarfed by a huge shopping centre. This is inspite of it having economic, historical and tourism possibilities for future generations.The area is where the foundation of the Irish Republic began.
